Statutory Audit

Today, the statutory audit of financial statements is regulated by the Audit Law. An audit means testing and evaluation financial statements and the data and methods used in their preparation on which basis an expert opinion of truth and fairness of presentation of assets, equity, liabilities and the results of operation of entrepreneurs is given. An audit includes also testing and evaluation of operations, organization of business processes, decision-making methods, and operation of the information system. Owners, managers and employees of the users of auditing services benefit from the audit, and indirectly also the investors and the state.

Audits regulated by the Companies Act

Audits regulated by the Companies Act are the audits of company incorporation, audits of increase and decrease in share capital, audits of mergers and statutory consolidations of companies, and audits of divisions.  The users of those audits are entrepreneurs that have to make the changes in their status.

Audits on Demand

Tailored audits are the audits for special purposes (audits of parts of a company, audits of company operation, review of operation, etc.). Tailored audits are ordered to get an opinion of the financial statements of segments. They are mainly prepared for purchase and sale of interests and shares, at a request of owners to control the management, for management to control its employees as regards the management's responsibility for their work, for banks, and for other financial institutions. Audits for projects financed by the World Bank, EC, and similar institutions are also categorized as tailored audits.
